Project: Close control fly room at the Department of Physiology
Work undertaken: Design and installation of equipment to a fly room

Department of Physiology are part of the Oxford University providing teaching and research facilities.

The requirements of this project where to change an exisiting office into a storage room for flys requiring exact storage temperature and humidity levels of 25 degrees and 50-60% RH.

Our solution to this project was to install a small refrigeration system consisting of a ceiling mounted evaporator and heater within the room to provide the required temperature control. This solution evaporates a high temperature than a standard air conditioning system reducing the load on the humidifier.

A small wall mounted humidifier complete with a fan assisted blower unit was provided to maintain the correct humidity level.

The complete system is controlled by a project specific control panel providing control and fault indication.
