Project: Heat recovery air conditioning
Work Undertaken: Supply and installation of heat recovery air conditioning at Guru Nanak school in Hayes, London
Guru Nanak Sikh primary school is situated in Hayes in the London Borough of Hillingdon. They are a faith school that promotes the values of the Sikh religion.
The school, along with the secondary school was established in 1999 as a voluntary aided school in the state sector. They provide an education for 427 pupils aged between 3 and 11.
Oxford Refrigeration carried out the installation of air conditioning to various rooms in Block E.
A total of nine Mitsubishi PQRY_YHM heat recovery VRF systems where installed utilising a total of seventy five ducted, cassette, wall, and floor mounted fan coil units located in each space. A additional four systems where installed to serve four heat pump boilers which are sited within the plant room
The condensing units also located in the plantroom are water cooled rather than air cooled and are served by water circulating through pipework buried in a total of 50 boreholes.
These systems offer an energy efficient solution by utilising the consistant ground temperature to maintain a consistant condenser water temperature. It also offered the ability to mount the condensing units internally and therefore out of sight which was vital to the asthetics of the building.
