Project: New freezer room at a research facility in Oxfordshire
Work undertaken: Design and installaion of a low temperature freezer room
Oxford Agricultural Trials are one of the oldest and most experienced contract field trials companies in the UK. Core services include the evaluation of agrochemicals, crop varieties, fertilisers and organic products for the crop protection industry.
Oxford Refrigeration previously carried out routine maintenance to their low temperature refrigerated trailer at the Bicester facility.
I became evident that the trailer although serving a purpose was not as reliable as it needed to be. After a short consultation process various options where offered to the client to provide a more suitable solution for their approval.
The final decision was to supply and install a large walkin freezer room operating at -20 degrees. The room was served by a Searle cooler connected to a Copeland condensing unit all controlled by project specific control panel. The room included new lighting to provide a light working environment as well a a lobby area to provide preperation space.
The room was subject to and passed rigorous government testing and is still maintained by Oxford Refrigeration.
